It's easy to cast, costs only one red and one black to cast, and can be easily done in any Rakdos (red/black) deck

The indestructible counter will hopefully allow you to take advantage of the doubling effect and reduce the effectiveness of your opponents board wipes (the scourge of token decks), and makes Mondrak an excellent token commander

Now that it's rotated out it's become less commonly seen, but it's still a great card
